Finally, the secret’s out and we couldn’t wait to share this with you! Thank you to everyone who helped make our dreams come true. We wouldn’t have been able to make Pursuit Salon a reality without the support of our loving family, supportive friends, and most of all, our amazing clients. Our clientele gave us the drive, motivation, and true grit to pursue our collective dreams of opening up a new salon in Los Altos. All four of us came from many years at diPietro Todd Salon and are not only co-workers, but we are also best friends and now co-owners. Because you’re part of the family, we want you to feel right at home the minute you walk in the door and extra special throughout your stay. Rebecca O'Reilly | Color Specialist | Co-Owner

REBECCA

Creative, versatile, and passionate about her craft, Rebecca Estes has been able to establish herself as a top Bay Area colorist and educator for over 20 years. Her enthusiasm for providing her clients with beautiful hair and teaching others to do the same, led her to co-founding Pursuit Salon. Her love for nature, art and travel is what inspires her the most. Rebecca is known for her signature sun kissed highlights and gorgeous shiny sophisticated color.

When not in the salon you can catch Rebecca in her kitchen cooking, or dancing her heart out to some live music! She resides in beautiful Santa Cruz with her husband Ian, puppy Rocco and new daughter Daphne.

Diana Lyong | Stylist | Co-Owner

DIANA

Diana graduated from San Francisco’s Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School in 2004. She advanced her career by continuing her training as an apprentice in DiPietro Todd’s program for 3 years. She then gained the position of a prestigious stylist at a high-end salon and dedicated her talents for 16 years.

In 2020, Diana and her 3 partners opened up Pursuit Salon in Los Altos. She has become a true master of her craft by continuing education learning trends, teaching, and sharing her new skills with her clients. Diana specializes in precision cutting and Pura Luxe Smoothing Treatments. Diana offers the perfect combination of charisma, raw talent, and devotion to her work and has a strong desire for people to look and feel amazing when leaving the salon.

Claire Sternberg | Extension Specialist | Co-Owner

CLAIRE

A cosmetology veteran with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Claire Sternberg has been a professional hairstylist since 2006. Specializing in extensions and haircuts, Claire has positioned herself to be highly sought after and goes the extra mile to meet the needs of her clients. After attending the Vidal Sassoon Academy 12 years ago, she relocated to San Francisco and built a loyal clientele ever since. She takes pride in her work and the favorite part of her career is making people look and feel beautiful.

Whitney Ratigan | Color Specialist | Co-Owner

WHITNEY

Whitney Ratigan relocated from San Diego to the Bay Area in 2008 to pursue a career in Cosmetology. After 3 years of intensive training at one of the top salons in the country, Whitney found her passion for bringing clients’ hair to life by way of color. Discovering her niche at such a young age, paired with her upbeat personality, Whitney has a distinct advantage for making people happy and retaining clientele in this industry. 

*Due to high demand, Whitney is not currently accepting new clients but will be happy to introduce you to another talented stylist at Pursuit.

Katie hails from the highly acclaimed diPietro Todd Salon in San Francisco, with over 3 years of professional hair color services. Her specialties include; but are not limited to, natural-looking, beautiful hair, and balayage.

Chris David | Stylist

CHRIS

Chris David started his training at diPietro Todd the minute he stepped foot in California. During his 23 years at dPT, he worked his way through their apprenticeship program to stylist and ultimately was named owner/partner in their Palo Alto location. Now, as a member of the Pursuit team, he brings with him all the skills he’s learned along the way while concentrating on what he loves most—precision hair-cutting and superb customer service. With each client, Chris takes the time to determine the haircut that suits the person best, with an emphasis on selecting a style that can easily be duplicated at home. The same goes for you. He wants you to look and feel your best upon leaving the salon, right up until your next visit. Chris also specializes in Keratin Complex and Puraluxe all-natural smoothing treatments. He can help decide which treatment will best suit you for shiny, easy, frizz-free hair!

Vincent Gu | Stylist

VINCENT

Born and raised in China, Vincent has been doing hair since he was a teenager. He soon moved to California in 2012 and completed the training program at the Sassoon Academy in Beverly Hills where he won the coveted Student Premier reward. He now found a home at Pursuit salon Where he can put his creative skills and talent to work. With a strong foundation in technique, alongside immaculate attention to detail. Vincent’s aim is to design a look that compliments his client’s lifestyle and personal image. As a creative stylist, He firmly believed in suitability is a strength in terms of providing a perfect cut and style, meaning a good consultation is critical in order to get a rewarding result. His aesthetic ranges from classic shapes to soft textured styles.

Dalisha | Hair Colorist

DALISHA

Graduating from being an assistant a couple of years ago, Dalisha has been a crucial member of the Pursuit Salon team helping out with managing the salon, client relations, and now hair color. She is always up for a new challenge, and loves educating herself on the newest hair trends to keep her clients looking their best. Her witty personality will put you at ease while she works her magic with your hair.

Macey | Stylist

MACEY

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Macey knew that she always wanted to work with people. After leaving her marketing job she decided to pursue her passion for hair. Her new career began at the Aveda Institute in San Francisco where she received top-tier training. Following school, she went to Drybar in order to perfect her styling abilities. From there she moved on to an apprenticeship at diPietro Todd Salons where she was able to sharpen her cutting skills. Macey is ultra-focused, a great listener, and a keen observer. She believes that consultation is the most important part of the haircut to determine the perfect fit for each client’s lifestyle, guaranteeing their hair looks good every day, not just when they leave the salon. Alexandria | Hairstylist and hair extension extraordinaire

ALEX

Alexandria is a hairstylist and hair extension extraordinaire. She grew up in Sonoma County and always wanted to pursue a career in cosmetology. After being trained by top haircut specialists in wine country, she ventured to San Francisco for even more extensive training at Di Pietro Todd Salon. Alex specializes in haircuts, specialty and occasion hairstyling, as well as hair extensions that are hand-tied and great length extension certified! She has vast experience with curly hair, textured undone looks and is passionate about exceeding client’s needs to match their lifestyle with confidence-boosting results!

Cameron | Color Specialist

CAMERON

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Cameron is the tallest hair colorist in the world. Charismatic with a colorful personality, it’s no wonder he loves working with people giving his clients what he calls, “the razzle-dazzle.” At an early age of 32, Cameron decided to leave his desk job to pursue a career in cosmetology. To fast-track his newfound passion to become the tallest and talented colorist, he surrounded himself with the best people in the business, formerly landing as an apprentice at diPietro Todd Salon. We won’t mention his height here, you’ll have to come in and see for yourself.

MARISSA

You can catch Marissa at the front desk or behind the lens taking your new favorite photos and posting them on the Pursuit Salon social media accounts. Marissa has a creative eye and can-do attitude which is why she is our social media brand manager.

Jordan East | Hair Stylist

JORDAN EAST

Jordan has been in the hair industry for over 15 years. He began his career studying at Vidal Sassoon and two formative apprenticeships. After ten years with diPietro Todd Salon in San Francisco and Palo Alto, Jordan has grown and evolved as a hairdresser; from short precise shapes to textured razor shags, curly hair, men’s grooming— he’s grown to love it all. He’s also acquired expertise in hair extensions and smoothing treatments to help clients achieve their ideal look. Jordan sees his clients as the lead actors in their own movie and is here for the character development. “Hair can do a lot for someone’s image, and I want to help my clients create the best version of themselves.”

Rocio

Get ready to meet your new hair guru – the fabulous Rocio! This color queen has been slaying hair goals for over 12 years and just earned her crown as Pursuit Salon’s newest color specialist.

Rocio can work hair magic with highlights, lowlights, balayage, and beyond. She lives for dimension and movement and will leave you with that natural sun-kissed, lived-in look you’ve been dreaming of. As a smoothing treatment expert, she’ll also have your locks smoother than silk.

After completing an intensive year-long color apprenticeship with Pursuit’s celebrity stylists, Rocio is now taking clients for her signature blended brunettes, golden blonde transformations, and custom balayage looks.

Rocio knows hair health is queen and will take the time to understand your hair goals, and lifestyle, and formulate a custom color plan. Her work is always natural, and seamless, and makes you look instantly refreshed!

Melissa Hernandez | Salon Manager

Hair salon manager by day, author by night – meet the multi-talented Melissa!

This superstar stylist found her calling in hair after years of channeling her competitive spirit as a high school athlete. Growing up in a large family, Melissa quickly mastered the art of leadership which she brings to her role as salon manager.

When she’s not busy keeping the salon running like a well-oiled machine, you can find Melissa working on her first book. She’s pouring her heart out on the pages, sharing inspiring stories of overcoming adversity. Melissa hopes to motivate others to find inner strength and resilience through her writing.

Outside the salon, you’re likely to find Melissa embarking on spontaneous weekend getaways, hunting down the best local coffee shops, hiking, and enjoying quality time with her family and friends.

Melissa is thrilled to combine her passion for leadership, creativity, and personal growth in her role as salon manager. She loves coaching the team to reach their highest potential in an energizing, supportive environment. And of course, she still saves time for writing and connecting with clients over shared stories and laughs.
